Why do people need to get connected to an unmanageable number of people? - 2:41 PM, Saturday, May 23, 2009 |
There is a mad rush out there to connect for the present generation that is always on the move ……. to connect with all and sundry ……. connect for the heck of it. The logic is that it has become the need of the hour because you never know when you may need somebody else for your business or professional needs. The logic is sound, no doubt; but it is resulting into relationships of any significance becoming fewer and fewer, and this is hardly a desirable trend. |

It is an irony that people get involved with more and more social networking as their spare time shrinks because of their long working hours and hectic lifestyle. There is hardly any leisure time people have these days, still they are trying to network with their long lost friends of school days through various social networking sites. A substantial amount of time is devoted by most people trying to network with as many people as possible even if they may not find time in their whole life to meet that person or …… possibly may not even send them more than two or three insignificant e-mails.
