Good blogging advice

Here is some interesting advice on the business case for blogging. It's not really aimed at the likes of me but I still found it helpful.

Tories cut community events

Boris Johnson has announced a massive cut to community events as part of his 'culture' strategy. It's not positioned like this. Cleverly, it's been (exclusively) given to the Guardian who, in return, focus on the fact that they are 'ditching hip hop for high culture' for young people.

In fact, it looks like they are cutting all of the really important cultural events for minority groups. Apparently, Trafalgar Square is being 'over-used'.

It's so outrageous but so predictable from the Tories who really haven't changed and always cut funding from those who really need it. And I bet there's no strategy for even trying to get young black people listening to opera - just funding to reduce the ticket prices for typical Tory voters.

Eastenders - public health warning

I buy a licence fee each year - as I have to. It pays for good things and bad things like Eastenders.

I pay taxes each year. It pays for good things like redistribution and bad things like ineffective public health warnings.

Imagine the money we could save if in Eastenders the frequent visitors to Max's hospital bed visibly wore teh anti MRSA hand gel rather than visibly walked past the warning signs.

BBC: must do better.

Technorati

I've started to get in to Technorati - even though they're ignoring my blog (boo - but I deserve it I suppose).

However, it really annoys me that you click on the headline of a story and the next time you click on it, nothing happens because they've moved the link to a subhead. It seems like a poor user experience.

What does anyone else think?
