Selling art

My wife has been painting massive oil paintings for as long as I have known her, and they always turn out striking and dramatic. Most of our walls are covered in originals and the whole place has the air of a studio and gallery. We haven’t got the room really for any more paintings but since she loves her hobby and finds it soothing, she has no intention of stopping. To this end we have decided to start selling some of our least favourite and any new works to try and make some profit out of her work. To test the water we put a few pictures onto eBay to see if they would sell and we were pretty pleased with the results.

We decided that rather list over and over on ebay, it would make more sense to build a website to sell her pictures from. I have been dabbling in HTML for a while now and am relishing this new challenge. We have also decided to get a second BT phone line installed so as to appear more professional.  There are phone systems specially made for business but for our needs a new line should suffice.

The next challenge was to buy the new phone; it must be quite some time since we last had to purchase one because the range of telephones was overwhelming.  We decided on buying a digital DECT cordless phone for ease of use and being able to get around whilst on the phone.

But for the meantime we are both super busy getting everything ready for the launch of the new site. She’s busy painting and getting all her supplies ready for any commission work and I am sharpening my web site making skills. Just when we get the house sorted and tidy the place is a tip again, hopefully if this venture goes well we can afford that extension we are after.
